Luke Johnson is the developer of the World of Warcraft RPG Books line, which now has five published titles to serve as guides for WoW users. Previously published guides are those for the Alliance Player and the Monster Guide, and now, Luke is coming out with the Horde Player Guide which he talks about in today's featured interview.
BlizzPlanet was able to have a little chat with Luke Johnson where they talk about this new book and what's basically in it: the races covered in the book, whether Chris Metzen (Warcraft storyline writer since 1994) had a hand in the making of this new book, and tons more. The interview was quite extensive, as Luke outlines the prestige classes and variant classes discussed in the book. Here are a few snippets from the interview:
Races and Classes: Johnson says that there's a chapter in the book called "New Races" which includes half-ogres, half-orcs, and jungle trolls. In Chapter 2, you'll find four creature classes, as well as creature classes for the abomination, centaur, ogre, and ogre mage. Johnson gladly reveals the variant classes found in the book and we quote:
Melee Hunter: A hunter who focuses on melee instead of ranged.
Wandering Hunter: He draws his power from different types of terrain, rather than different animals.
Uncorrupted Necromancer or Warlock: You don't go evil, but you don't get as many feats.
Battle Shaman: The most paladin-ish of shamans.
Far Seer: A shaman variant based on the WC3 hero unit.
Hidden Warlock: Focuses on concealing his nature and has the spells to do it.
