Proving resilient even in the front of patch 2.0.1 is PvP. Never mind if the Arena system has been "nonexistent" thus far. Fact of the matter is that the regular battlegrounds are still getting regular activity from players, thanks to the lure of the new Honor Points, the new specs, and, well, basically, the desire to get attuned once more to what is believed to be a revamped WoW.
While the normal reaction to change would be to repel it, like with the patch, it is undeniable that it has brought in some new blood, so to speak, into the game. After all, it's not just about maintaining whatever ground you may already have, but rather, it's also about expanding those grounds and making it viable for newer markets.
According to the guys over at WowInsider, it is the hope that all this activity will be able to generate strategy. But although there may be problems regarding that, they have noted that "while raiding has taken a beating under this patch, PVP is still a pleasure most of the time."
That's gaming for you. You lose some, you win some.
