No tweaks? Me angry! This might either be good news or bad news. Either way, there's nothing we can do for now. While Blizzard has revamped the combat rating system in WoW: the Burning Crusade, there's going to be no tweaking of the current raid dungeons.

What does this mean exactly?

  • no new caps
  • no new timers
  • no new loot tables
  • no adjusting of current loot
However, the developers are still eyeing future developments. It's just that, the way things are, there won't be any changes in the raid dungeons once Burning Crusade comes out. There's room for overhauls when things get boring in the long-term, but as for now, it's zilch.

If it's any consolation, having no changes might be a good thing also. Let's say you're busy with Burning Crusade, and there's no tweaks. That's fine, concentrate on the new stuff in the expansion first. Then maybe when things get boring, out of nowhere, they release a whole bundle of patches to make the game exponentially more interesting.

See? There's always a bright side to everything!

» A lot of raid tweaks, actually :)

I happen to be in the beta, and ... while there will be no tweaks to the currently existing dungeons, that means nothing at all about the new endgame instances. In fact, there will be tons of tweaks there - they'll be mostly winged, short-ish (3-4 hours max, current 5 mans take 1 hour or so when done in a good group without wipes).

MC, BWL and Naxx will stay 40 man. MC loot is outdated by lvl 61-62, BWL loot by lvl 63-64, Naxx loot by lvl 67ish. You can still visit MC if you want, you will be able to gain the same loot there you always could, just like now you can still go to Scarlet Monastery if you really want to...

There'll be enough new endgame dungeons to make things worthwhile :)
