Blizzard to be harsher against Battlegrounds AFKers - Image 1It looks as if AFKers better be wary of their actions. Blizzard has recently announced that there will be stiffer penalities for honor leechers in the different World of Warcraft battlegrounds, effective immediately.

Here's the official announcement from Blizzard CM Bornakk:

In our continued efforts to support fair gameplay in World of Warcraft and to provide a positive experience for players, we are currently taking steps to ensure fair and enjoyable competition in the Battlegrounds. Starting immediately, we will be issuing warnings and penalties, including suspensions and the removal of Honor points and recently acquired Honor rewards, for non-participation in Battleground games.

We are taking action against thousands of accounts immediately, and will continue to monitor these situations and regularly take action against violators.

We suppose Blizzard hopes that this will encourage players to be more active in battlegrounds, and with a penalty like suspension hanging over honor leechers, then there are certain to be far less instances of honor leeching on the battlegrounds.

If you happen to find yourself in front of a fellow who won't fight in the battlegrounds, feel free to report him. Chances are, if enough reports get sent about the fellow, he'll get himself into trouble for not abiding by the rules of the battleground.
