Announcing Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition: Guitar Hero III Marathon - Image 1Early last year, we initially reported that plans were being made to release a dedicated gamer's edition of the Guinness World Records series of books. Fast forward to this year, and we've picked up some new details from the book's official site you may want to hear about.

The first details you'll want to know is that Guinness World Records: Gamer's Edition has been dated for a February 2008 release. To commemorate the upcoming launch, the book will be holding a Guinness World Record Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock (Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, Wii, PC, Mac) Marathon Relay, also for this February.

This event will take place at set venues in the UK, the U.S., Canada, Australia and France. Quoting the official site on what you can expect to happen at this massive gathering:

You will have the chance to rock with Guitar Hero for one song before passing on to the next player for the most exciting record breaking event of the year! Those of you brave enough to dress as your favourite Guitar Hero are especially welcome!

The site's also sent out a general invite to all the gamers out there who think they've got a record-breaking feat that's just waiting to be immortalized. Application details for the GH3 marathon and the general invite are available at the official Guinness site via the source link.
