In the Public Test Realm (PTR) of Blizzard's World of Warcraft, the Forte guild took down one of the biggest and baddest characters around: Archimonde the Defiler. Now, they posted their accomplishment on MMO-champion.com, but they admit that it wasn't a "fair" kill.
It's a bit strange that a group can actually take down Archimonde the Defiler since it took the sacrifice of the ancient guardian spirits of the World Tree to kill him in the end of Warcraft 3. Of course, rumors have been circulating that only Archimonde's physical body was killed and his spirit is somewhere in the Emerald Dream, slowly corrupting those who pass through it. We're still wondering how Blizzard is going to explain Archimonde's presence and death in World of Warcraft.
Forte got a decent amount of loot from the raid, and judging from the stuff they got, they might even attempt a second or third go at Archimonde just to see what he coughs up next. Be sure to view the pictures of the raid to see what they got and Archimonde's dead body.
