Nobody appreciates a good April Fool's joke more than Blizzard and what better way to celebrate this humorous "holiday" than with a couple of amusing posts for some of the supposedly upcoming content for World of Warcraft. WoW fans who've been waiting all these years for a console version of the popular MMO title will finally get their wish as Blizzard has recently announced the upcoming release of World of Warcraft: The Molten Core. This console spinoff will feature a 40-man raid dungeon in lush 2D graphics and rendered across a glorious 192i resolution. The game will feature representations of the nine playable characters for the actual WoW MMO, with a tenth shape representing the death knight hero class to be introduced in a future expansion. The upcoming title will be initially released for the Atari 2600, with plans for additional console releases to be announced in the future. If that's still not enough for you, World of Warcraft: The Molten Core Collector's Edition will include tinted cellophane TV overlays which will further increase the arrays of colors available to players. Also, the Collector's Edition will include details on the game's future beta test phase. Moving onto the actual WoW title scene, Blizzard has also introduced an upcoming hero class which will go live with the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. The bard hero class will feature a unique combat interface not found in the other player classes, which will give players a dynamic look at how the game can be played. Taking a look at the screenshots below, you'll notice how deadly the bard's killer riffs can take out the opposition while wooing the babes with your badass rocker attitude. The new class will excel as both a solo performer and as a solid part of the group lineup. A new interface system called the "groove" will also be introduced with the class. This allows players to launch a Fret Bar, which will display the number of riffs needed to execute the different abilities tied with the bard. The riffs become increasingly more difficult as the bard progresses, ensuring that the gameplay experience remain challenging and fun at the same time. Thanks to Th3 Sup3rman for the heads up on the new Bard class! |
