Blizzard: Daze change gone in WoW v2.2 - Image 1We know that the patch changelog pop up would have left heavily-armored World of Warcraft players biting nails, but you don't need to fret. Thanks to brave testers and official community manager confirmation, tankers would be happy to know that the Daze mechanic, previously retracted by Blizzard, is totally absent with the newly upped version 2.2 patch. Bornakk said:

We removed the change to the Daze mechanic a little late and we weren't able to remove it from the client, but there have been no changes to daze in 2.2. You can check out the website for the most up to date patch notes and see it was removed there.

So in essence, yes, the Daze mechanic change was still in the patch notes, but Blizzard kept its word and didn't implement any changes to how Daze will affect targets based on defense rating (thus armor). The client's patch change notes weren't changed either, but that's now an error on Blizzard's part, since the new patch notes reflect that it never pushed through.

To reinforce that point, some tankers tried out 2.2 mechanics earlier and found that Daze did not affect them more than usual (not at all for some, in fact). So worry not, your armor-clad WoW avatar will still fare well against Daze if it fared well against it before the patch.
