Battlegrounds game depicted in Blizzard's World of Warcraft - Image 1It looks like Blizzard is finally getting serious with the number of players who still persist in slacking off during Battleground instances. In an official statement made on the World of Warcraft forums, Blizzard Poster Vaneras has made it clear that they will be enforcing strict measures against non-participants engaged in a BG.

It used to be the practice that players can flag other people who are confirmed as AFK during a BG. Those found guilty were either kicked out of the instance or would not receive any honor for participating in the game. This measure was found to be a bit half-hearted by many gamers though. However, Blizzard has assured players that they will be less lenient towards participants in a BG that are found AFK from now on.

It was already confirmed by several members on the forums that gamers who either stayed AFK or refused to answer to an in-game GM during a Battleground were fined a temporary ban for their non-participation. Hopefully, this is just the start of a proper policing action Blizzard will be implementing to ensure everyone enjoys a fair game in a Battleground match.
