Blizzard Entertainment's logo - Image 1Activision and Vivendi Games merging to become Activision Blizzard would have to be among the biggest events this year. It's something the industry will be talking about in years to come, and many gamers won't be put to rest until good titles come out of this union. Blizzard Entertainment's co-founder and president Mike Morhaime, however, wants to assure fans of both video game giants that quality of products won't suffer.

In an interview with GameSpot, Morhaime said a lot of talk about differences between Activision and Vivendi's subsidiary Blizzard happened before the merger. According to him, the other company recognizes Blizzard's culture, philosophy, and commitment, that "no one at Activision or Vivendi has any desire to change."

When the merge is finalized, Activision's current CEO Bobby Kotick will head Activision Blizzard. Mike Morhaime will remain as head honcho of Blizzard Entertainment, and Michael Griffiths will take the reins of Activision publishing. Logos will remain, so you won't see Blizzard logos on Guitar Hero or Activision logos on World of Warcraft, Morhaime added.
