Players have different opinions regarding what character classes are good PvP choices in Blizzard Entertainment's World of Warcraft. One such class that players have complained about is the shadow spec'ed priest. 

Quite a number of players have complained that the spec is rather underpowered and not a good choice for serious players. You know what, they might be right.

Community Manager Drysc said that he does pretty well in Battlegrounds with his shadow priest. However, he added that if he were to consider facing higher level competitions then he would probably re-spec.

Drysc did hint at the possibility that shadow priests may be more viable in the future, but the developers are holding on to the belief that "not every spec for every class should be expected to be as viable as the next for each aspect of the game." Oh well, it looks like priests are going to be confined to a support role in PvP, at least for now.
