Spirit HealerThough the arrival of the WoW: Burning Crusade is being delayed until early next year, we all know that you are ready and prepared for war this early. The good thing though about here is that apparently, the delay is for a good reason. Developer Blizzard Entertainment promised that the extra weeks are needed for further refining of the game. Guess what? They just did that.

It came to the attention of developers that high-level players are fond of downranking, or the use of lower level spell ranks and +healing gear to conserve mana but maintaining at the same time a high rate of healing done. As a response, Blizzard decided to change the way spells calculate the bonus they receive from +healing and +spell damage effects and items.

Accordingly, the statement reads: "Spells will now receive a smaller bonus from +healing and +spell damage based on a comparison of the level at which the spell was learned and the caster’s current level." In case you didn't quite catch that, an equation of the new system might prove helpful: [(spell level)+6] / [player level]. The exact same computation applies to damage spells.

 » Hmm?

Is there something wrong with downranking? I don't see why blizzard found an answer that didn't have a question? Then again I've only ever gotten to level 46 and can't take into consideration how this affects end-game events.
