Triggers without reasonable hostility - Image 1

WoW Europe Forums user Golgoth alerts the denizens of Azeroth in his forum post about a bug that he's been able to reproduce both in live realms and the PTR. Since the bug triggers in both, it is not native to this recent patch.

The bug is that Damage Shields like Lightning Shield and Shadowguard are triggering inadequately. The issue is that the said shields "trigger" without proper hostile action. Golgoth cites these two examples:

  • While doing the quest "Shizz work" in Hellfire Peninsula, where you need to search Felhound poo for a key, activating the quest item gives a "stinky" debuff. So far no problem, but if you have any enemy targeted when you get the "stinky" debuff, your damage shield will fire against it and draw it towards you (regardless of range)
  • While doing the quest "Kindness" where you are asked to feed Nether Drakes, damage shields will fire against them when they thank you for your help.

Official Blizzard poster Shaantie - "Blizzard poster" means employee, EU Quality Assurance to be precise, but hey, we'll address them by their World of Warcraft forums title - reassures that Blizzard is currently investigating this problem.
