Okay, so maybe whispers of a legendary bow coming soon aren't unheard of among the hunters of the World of Warcraft, but perhaps community manager Bornakk spilled a few more beans than he should have. In a thread inquiring about legendaries for other classes, the Orcish CM said:
[Blizzard was] planning to implement a Legendary ranged weapon soon, while I’m not sure what class restrictions it will have, I kind of doubt many Rogues or Warriors are going to be able to say that they need it or will use it more than Hunters. Just my crazy thoughts though.
The first news of the legendary ranged weapon was collected from the recent BlizzCon, where a presentation revealed that a legendary ranged weapon would be arriving with World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King. In the same event however, a panel of Blizzard personnel later hinted that a legendary bow would soon make it to live realms with the addition of the Sunwell Plateau (or the next 25-man raid crawl, Zul'Aman - take a pick).
Now the case behind the Sunwell and the Elven region content is yet another story, since the method of Sunwell's distribution is still unclear. Hints made by Blizzard in the press and by certain players - on some occasions - placed the delightful addition at either a later major content patch or a separate expansion (WotLK), though many hope it would be the former. The tense used by Bornakk, however, might douse some flames of hope.
Patch 2.3 is continuing to garner more and more additions to its changelog, though any indication of Sunwell Plateau content remains either hidden or absent. Can we expect this mysterious bow to arrive by version 2.3? Only MPQ file snoops and Public Test Realm runs may determine that. More on this as we come across them. Image is courtesy of WoW Insider.
