Heroes taking orphans to see the wonders of the world and letting them little ones experience adventures they would have partaken earlier had their parents been alive. Touching, isn't it? Good enough for a movie plot; but no, this is not a scene from a new dramatic movie. It's actually an overview of the latest in-game event in the World of Warcraft.
Children's Week (or Children's Holiday) is celebrated this 9th to 16th of May by the Horde and Alliance. Heroes of both factions give something back to the innocents of war, the orphans. If you wish to fulfill these orphans' dreams of venturing out into the world and visiting sights their parents would have shown them, troop over to the orphanage and talk to the orphan matron for your faction – Orphan Matron Nightingale in Stormwind (Alliance) and Orphan Matron Battlewail in Orgrimmar (Horde).

Take your young friend to a little adventure across Azeroth. For Alliance orphans, be sure to take them to the bank in Darnassus and the lighthouse in Westfall, and let them see Jaina Proudmore in Theramore. On the other hand, Horde orphans will be delighted to see Mor'shan Rampart, Lordaeron Throne Room, and Cairne Bloodhoof in Thunder Bluff.
Now we know kids are a grateful bunch of people (well, at least the good ones... and these orphans are some of them). So expect these orphans to offer you one of his favorite pets to remember him by. But I'm sure, even though these pets can be useful to you in time, the memories of strolling Stormwind and Ogrimmar with the little orphans will be a reward bigger than any pet.
