Drinking mechanics changed in 2.4 - Image 1Over on the World of Warcraft forums, players have noted something strange in the water they've been drinking recently. According to the players, they noticed that quick drinks didn't seem to replenish mana the way it used to.

Hortus dropped by the forums to tell people that this was actually an intended change to the drinking. As Hortus explains it,

This is an intentional change to how drinking works. The amount of mana regenerated now ramps up, so you will see little or no mana regen the first few seconds and then it will increase as the duration continues.

Basically, this change limits the mana you'll receive from short drinking sessions. While the change seems to have little effect, especially if you're one of those folks who loves making use of the full duration of a mana regeneration item, this does put a damper on those timed Zul' Aman runs, as well as those life-saving breaks in the Arena.

You can expect to see a lot of arguments from the mana-using classes in the forums on the good or harm this change does to their class. In any case, keep checking QJ for more updates on this and other news around Azeroth.
