Cyclone Battlegroup down for five hours, players field complaints - Image 1

The Cyclone Battlegroup realms in World of Warcraft went down for about five hours due to some realm issues. What these issues were exactly was not explained, and a lot of players were rather upset by this.

Blizzard poster Kaone released a long list of realms that would be affected by "Latency issues" and said that it would be resolved shortly. This post was put up at 7:33:06 p.m. UTC, but the problem was only fixed as of 12:07:47 a.m. UTC, over 4.5 hours later.

Now, some players have been complaining about this and have already been bouncing around an idea of getting a refund for all the downtime. Others have suggested a boost in experience gain for about two or three levels just to make up for the time they've all lost during downtime. After all, they didn't buy the game to experience hours and hours of downtime.

That said, the problem must have been pretty big for Blizzard to take that long to repair it. Perhaps a more formal statement from the company is needed to placate the players who have been affected, and it may help ease the tension that has been building up among the players regarding downtimes in general. Be sure to keep checking back her for more updates on World of Warcraft.
