Engineering Gnome - Image 1It's 99% fact: Engineering has been all but forgotten by Blizzard. Currently useful in PvP, the benefits provided by many of the items simply don't move up according to the abilities of their users, and many of the pre-BC items were more of novelty items that had specific functional uses (Parachute Cloak, anyone?).

Well, it's been the topic of much speculation for a while, but Rerox of Ursin has taken it upon himself to offer some ideas that may make Engineering worth taking again. His idea is for multi-use stimpacks which, like potions, would confer great benefits to their users at the cost of some rather expensive materials.

For example, a healing stimpack would require 1 Fel Iron Casings, 2 Handfuls of Fel Iron Bolts, 1 Crystal Vial, 3 Motes of Mana, 3 Motes of Air. With it, you could increase the potency of healing spells and speed up casting times for a set duration.

While not exactly the easiest sort of thing to find, creating one would allow for multiple uses, which is helpful for raids. It would considerably make engineering a viable skill for more than PvP antics, and at least would give engineers something more to do with their skills.

How about you? What do you think would make for a useful addition to the engineering skills?
