Gladiator Weapons still not battle worthy in the next PTR patch - Image 1

It's a known fact that Gladiator Weapons (GW) in Blizzard's World of Warcraft need a lot of improvement. Now ever since the items were implemented, Blizzard has promised that improvements will be made. They have even gone so far as to say that the GWs would be comparable to the top PvE gear.

So what happened? As Sogui on the WoW forums pointed out, it doesn't seem that it's going to be happening in this patch. A fine example would be the nerfing of the certain Gladiator Weapons while Karazhan loot has been buffed up. A lot of players feel that they have not been compensated for the amount of effort they went through to get the said weapons and are openly complaining about it now.

Drysc,a Blizzard Poster, gave a rather disheartening response to the problem.

Not all of the item buffs have been implemented, the arena items apparently being some of them. As was the case last week when some of the tier set items had been buffed, but not others. The public test realm (PTR) patches are implementing data as we make changes and won't always contain the entire spectrum of intended changes all of the time. The arena items I've checked don't appear to have received any changes yet. Other items may not reflect their intended values on the current PTR as well.

Pay attention to the last two sentences in the reply. Are the Gladiator Weapons slated for a lifetime of mediocrity? Will they simply be a trophy weapon that one keeps in their inventory? Well, a lot of players are bound to be disappointed if that's the case.
