Vazruden and Nazan - Image 1What is a loot ninja? It's a player that takes loot they aren't supposed to take.

There are a number of anti-ninja'ing features inherent in WoW but it still happens, mostly in PUGs (pickup groups or impromptu groups formed by random people not in the same guild or guild alliance). Anti-ninja looting features include first tap (only players within a group can roll over loot), rogues can't stay in stealth mode when picking up loot, and loot options.

Pookybear down at the WoW forums pointed out one instance that just invites ninjas. At the Hellfire Ramparts, one of the first instances would be Vazruden the Herald and Nazan his trusty steed - err Nether Drake. When you defeat the duo, a chest will simply open up containing the loot. Is it possible?

Blizzard employee and Community Manager (CM) for the US World of Warcraft forums">Eyonix of Blizzard says it's unlikely. He added that if it were a real problem, he'd report it to the powers that be. Hmm... So does that mean we all have to learn to click faster? Or just stay away from grouping with strangers?
