You don't have to be a hero to impress people.Let's face it: with the Burning Crusade coming up, people might want to turn off Heroic Difficulty. No, not because they want to wuss out, end-game freaks that they are. It's because there are times that want to access other dungeons and instances, except that they're locked out because "Heroic Difficulty not available for this instance."

Public service announcement from blue poster Blizzard poster at the WoW forums">Tseric: To turn off Heroic Difficulty, the current workaround is to type "/script SetDungeonDifficulty(1)". This will reset the diff to Normal, and allow entry into Normal-only dungeons and instances. Now, by saying "current workaround" does he mean that Blizzard is hard at work developing an easier option to turn Heroic Difficulty off when necessary, perhaps on the GUI? Or perhaps end-gamers can still enter Normal dungeons on Heroic, but definitely not Heroic dungeons on Normal?

Then again, as one forum member noted, and Tseric himself acknowledged, no current dungeon in the game, pre-BC, is Heroic yet. So, just asking, what are you doing with a Heroic setting on your character?

Finally, Tseric reminds: if there are any other issues please call in-game support. That's 1-WOW-DANGYOU. Again, that's 1-WOW-DANGYOU - again, no it's not!

 » Yeah...

Or you could just right click on your portrait and change the difficulty between Heroic and Normal...
