World of Warcraft - The Paladin class - Image 1The two talents, Avenging Wrath and Divine shield, were cast together for a serious avatar defense and damage upgrade. But Blizzard says this was a bug, and it's going to be fixed by the next patch for World of Warcraft.

According to Ommra, the fix will force both talents to cool down and thus be unavailable for casting, regardless of which spell between the two was cast.

But as far as we can tell, there has been no confirmation that the double cast feat was actually possible. Forbearance, held true for a 60-second time span after casting Divine Shield, Divine Protection or Blessing of Protection, prevents any Paladin from casting Avenging Wrath anyway.

What's more is that casting either Divine Shield or Avenging Wrath actually causes a 15% damage reduction "debuff," which was noticed on the Public Test Realm. They haven't announced a fix for that yet, nor have they even mentioned it in the same thread in the European WoW Forums.

If the Priest class thought they had it bad, it looks as if the Paladins could share the same fate. Necromancers would have a field day of Raise Dead pretty soon...
