Those of you who are hard up looking for cheap Large Prismatic Shards to help forge those godly high-level items, then we have some good news. The developers at Blizzard are already planning a new recipe which may help lower the market price of the much sought after item.
The good news was confirmed by Blizzard Poster Drysc after a post on the World of Warcraft forums was put up regarding the possibility of an alternative way to get Large Prismatics. The process was described as splitting the more common Void Crystal into two Large Prismatic Shards through Enchanting.
Drysc described the process and the new idea for the proposed recipe by saying:
[...] It's actually going to be a part of Enchanting. Once every 24 hours, through Enchanting (not Alchemy), you'll be able to split a Void Crystal into two Large Prismatic Shards. This is through a new recipe that's being added in 2.4.
This helps reduce the exorbitant prices currently being seen for Large Prismatics, and helps raise the value of the Void Crystals. While this is the only change planned in 2.4 to help the Void Crystal prices, we're still looking at the possibility of additional 'help' for Void Crystal value in the future.
With some hints already given about what the future 2.4 patch will hold, this is definitely going to be a very worthwhile update to help players achieve their goals of forging those "l33t" items they've always wanted.
