Taught your Hunter pets any tricks lately? If not, then there sure is a lot of catching up for you to do. But not to worry because there is an opportunity for you to do so. Checking out the Hunters forum, Nethaera said that there are currently new skills for Hunter pets in development that are coming in com the "next large patch".

Basically, it's been said that you can expect new skills that are "trainable and transferable between pets". What's more, there will be another item fresh and upcoming, the auttoattack and autoshot. According to Nethaera's post, they will be "adding an ability to toggle this on and off in the interface options at some point in the near future as well."
