That gnome may actually be a World of Warcraft Death Knight in disguise - Image 1Imagine a diminutive tinkerer clad in ebony armor spreading terror across World of Warcraft realms. Not exactly a comforting image of a gnomish Death Knight, now is it? The real question is: will Blizzard make this possible once Wrath of the Lich King rolls around? That's what one WoW player Ragetti wants to know.

The interesting thing is that the tongue-in-cheek discussion of the topic on the Blizzard forums invited a slew of blue responses, all of whom came from Blizzard poster Nethaera. The one that pertains directly to Ragetti's question is this one:  "We've said many times since BlizzCon, that we don't have any plans for race restrictions at this time."

Finally, Nethaera also addressed other player concerns regarding the Death Knight. One, there is no need for players to trade in one of their classes for the Death Knight - all they have to do is to have an empty character slot. Two, the initial glut of Death Knights in World of Warcraft will eventually balance itself out over time.
