Flying mounts will be making their way into the 2.3 Patch. Although much speculation surrounded the flying mount at first, it's been later found out that the mount will be a Hppogryph. You didn't think they'd be bringing back the flying broom as a permanent fixture did you?
The new mount can be purchased in the Cenarion Expedition. You'll have to have an Exalted reputation and then cough up 2000 gold to buy one though. It's pretty expensive, but you'll be the envy of all land walkers everywhere. Plus it's gloating privileges.
A couple of days ago, Blizzard poster Bornakk mentioned on the official World of Warcraft forums the possibility of an epic flying mount in the Cenarion Expedition. "It would be very expensive, but it would be a sign of an accomplishment for people who go the extra mile and purchase one," said the blue poster.
