World of Warcraft's Griftah - Image 1Many changes have been made in the World of Warcraft when patch 2.2 went live, one of which is slowly catching on with players. Notice Griftah's disappearance from Shattrath's Lower City? Quite a number of players have and there has been much ado about the cunning "Amazing Amulets" merchant.

Griftah is known for selling expensive (or "useless") items to those who don't know better, things like Soap on a Rope and Infallible Tikbalang Ward. You should say he had it coming when Peacekeeper Jadaar started harassing him after patch 2.1 and when he was ultimately booted out of the city in patch 2.2

Many players thought that the sneaky Griftah was removed due to some complaints by players who got conned. Blizzard World Designer Kisirani begged to differ, however, saying that the change was "due to a small developing storyline." The poster explained that the change was to keep the World of Warcraft from becoming stagnant.

Progressive content does sound like a very nice addition to WoW, don't you think? (Here's to hoping Kisirani and the other world designers think up more of these.) We wonder what's next in Griftah's storyline. A tikbalang invasion, perhaps? Stay tuned.
