Respeccing now available for alchemy and leatherworking in World of Warcraft - Image 1

In the latest patch notes for Blizzard's World of Warcraft, it was stated that "You can now unspecialize in tailoring and leatherworking, and then select a new specialization. This is a repeatable choice, but costs gold each time." This is a typo, as was mentioned in the WoW forums. The changing Spec should have said Alchemy and Tailoring. For those who aren't too familiar with this, it should be noted that Blacksmithing and Leatherworking are already Respeccable.

Respeccing, or changing your, in Blizzard's MMORPG Job requires 50 gold. There are other drawbacks such as having to level-up your new profession as well as losing everything you've learned from the old profession. If you find that the new profession is not something beneficial to your character, you can't just jump back to your old profession. You'll be starting at level 1 again. Of course, if you're sure that you want to change jobs and believe that it'll be worth the additional headaches (it better be) then go for it. I've respecced my Orc Shaman from leatherworking to blacksmithing and haven't looked back since.

For those who are wondering about respeccing Engineering, it's coming up in future expansions, so don't fret. We are wondering though why you can't jump back to your old profession and retain your accomplishments. After all, one doesn't just forget one's old craft right?
