To clear up any confusion regarding the whole "Druids in beta test can use consumables and item while shapeshifted" issue, Vaneras has posted some new info on the European World of Warcraft forums.

We've reported earlier that the whole thing was just a bug, but there's still some hope. Apparently, the developers like the idea and are thinking of letting shapeshifted Druids use certain consumables (Rage and Healing Potions, Thistle Tea and Healthstones).

The items that can be used by Druids while in shapeshifted forms are still being considered, and will be implemented in the game when all issues are resolved.

Y'know, if you think about it, it might seem absurd that an animal could get a bottle from a bag and guzzle it. But then again, Azeroth's full of talking man-cows, so who's to say that it's impossible?

Anyway, Vaneras also had something to say about weapon procs in feral. It seems the developers have also taken a liking to this idea and are currently evaluating which weapons with procs can be usable by shapeshifted druids. Same with the consumables issue, this will be introduced into the game when all issues are resolved.
