Netherstorm - Image 1

Ruufio, a member of the Official WoW Forums has recently posted that the a gate in the Mechanar instance in Tempest Keep, Netherstorm has a bad habit of locking closed if your party "wipes" on the final boss.

Blizzard poster Drysc responds by saying that it was a known bug and that from the looks of things, a client side patch will be needed to address the problem. Drysc responds:

It's a known bug, the encounter and elevator are not intended to restrict anyone based on how they fair in the fight. It currently appears that it will require a client side patch; unfortunately it doesn't appear the fix will be ready in time to be included in 2.07.

Given Blizzard's bad track record with instance gates - the door to Baron Revendare, the gate before Razoregore encounter, the door to Vaelastrasz in Blackwing Lair, and the gates in Rend encounter in Upper Blackrock Spire - others wonder why Blizzard tends to mess up the implementation of gates in dungeons. Given the history of errors, can't Blizzard double check areas of this nature?

To be fair to Blizzard, they've been very efficient at addressing these problems when they're discovered.

All that aside, make sure your party doesn't wipe at Mechanar. You have been warned.
