The9: World of Warcraft China peak player concurrency at one million - Image 1While we know that World of Warcraft's current population stands within the ten million range, have you ever wondered how many people actually go online at any given time?

While figures for that are currently unavailable for Europe or North America, China distributor The9 has some details for their territory.

According to them, WoW China's reported a peak concurrency of about one million players. That's roughly a sixth of Asia's last recorded WoW population going online at the same time, just to give you an idea of how big a figure that is.

According to The9, China's population had steadily picked up over the past few months, the gamers' interest being re-ignited by The Burning Crusades' launch last September. One the other hand, we're not sure just how this may impact The9's previous reports that they may be dropping WoW from their itinerary, in light of this MMORPG's massive operational costs. Drop by again in case we receive any more info related to this matter.
