Warning: inheritance of WoW accounts considered account sharing - Image 1

Anyone that's played World of Warcraft for more than the trial week knows that Blizzard is hell bent on enforcing prohibitions on account sharing. While inheriting accounts from friends who decided to grant you their accounts at your expense (meaning you pay for the succeeding bills of the account) isn't actually sharing as an ends, it is account sharing in the means.

Couple that with Blizzard's stances against gold farming initiatives, and some people who want to inherit accounts of others instead of sprucing up whole new ones may have some serious sourgraping against Blizzard's Billing and Account Services.

That said, Blizzard will allow legitimate subscribers as many accounts as they wish on their expense, only and only if they weren't given or sold to gain ownership. Now only if Big Blue had answered whether proving that the account was yours even if someone else paid for it (say your ex, for example), many folk would be home free.
