Art, despite it being just a three letter word, calls to mind a million other thoughts. More than being a lustrous and delightful craft, it is a work that incorporates the mind, the body and even the very soul. That is why today, we salute the winners of the recently concluded Blizzard Art Contest 2006.

The first of the planned annual festivity, the contest was first announced back in July. The objective was to create fan arts for these following categories: Best Diablo Art, Best StarCraft Art, Best Warcraft Art and Best Cinematics Art. The call was heeded by thousands of fans all over the world. After four months of accepting entries and deliberation, judges have decided that the following proved superior among the rest:

The one on the farthest left (titled Leading the Horde) won the Cinematics category and was created by Peter Zoppi. Choi Won Chun created the next one. Known as Sylvanas Locked in Thought, it dominated the Warcraft category. Firebat Hunted Hydralisk and Diablo's Horns Tower won the Starcraft and Diablo categories respectively. Congrats to all the winners!
