World of Warcraft Engineer - Image 1The call for an Engineering revamp has been ongoing since... uhm... yes, it's been that long ago. We just found an interesting thread in the World of Warcraft Europe Forums, and yes, it's about the revamp.

Palmer from Deathwing said in the opening post that the Engineering revamp is not even listed on the Under Development page. The player wanted to know when the revamp is due. Blizzard poster Tharfor answered the questions, fed the trolls a bit, and tried to pacify the players. The thread is currently eight pages long and almost exactly a month old, and Tharfor informed the players on how revamps are done:

I'd love to sit here with a big book of everything that has happened and everything is being worked and give full disclosure about everything you want to know; it would make me feel empowered.

However, a side effect of the creative process is that it's, well, creative and free-form. This means that when people ask "What is going on with X?" the answer could be "Nothing yet." but 3 minutes later there are 20 people working on 'something' related to X. Of course, most people (and even I am guilty of this) hate to stop what they are doing in order to record what they are doing so that people can say "Hey, what did you do today?" so they often don't.

The poster added that when X finally gets done, there are a gazillion more things to go through before it gets announced to the public. Tharfor also called for some patience: "Ok, that's a pretty extreme example but I'm trying to say: it's frustrating for everyone, because everyone has different needs and wants. I hope you can understand that and I hope you don't lose faith in us."

Let's be patient and cross our fingers for future changes and revamps in Blizzard's World of Warcraft. In the meantime, stay tuned for more news and info.
