The facade of the World of Warcraft Account Management page - Image 1It's customary for an MMORPG developer like Blizzard to sometimes bring a realm or a service down for maintenance purposes. This time, however, it wasn't a World of Warcraft realm that went down for maintenance; it was the Account Management Page.

Blizzard blue poster Slorkuz made this official statement yesterday, complete with the projected time and date as to when the page would be back online:

The World of Warcraft Account Management Pages are currently unavailable. This section will be undergoing maintenance until 3 AM 17th April, Paris time. We apologise for the inconvenience but can assure you that we are trying to fix it as soon as possible.

Judging from the responses of various WoW forum members after the announcement, it appears that the Account Management page went back up - only to go back down again shortly thereafter. Until Blizzard can get it up, running and stable again, it would seem that some good, old-fashioned patience is in order.
