With everybody getting an eyeful of the new Season 3 arena gear that's being paraded around World of Warcraft's Public Test Realms, we imagine there are folks out there wondering if they'll get an equally new Battleground to play with their (upcoming) new toys. This was the topic being raised by Mosis over at the WoW forums, who further asked if Blizzard was planning to release a new BG before the Wrath of the Lich King expansion next year. Blue-texter Nethaera visited the thread a little later with this reply:
There are no current plans to release one prior to Wrath of the Lich King. We are focusing on AV improvements for patch 2.3 and also on creating content for Wrath of the Lich King which includes a new battleground and of course the outdoor pvp zone, Lake Wintergrasp.
Tough tamales for the PVPholics, we imagine. On the other hand, this just makes WotLK all the more exciting to wait up for - let's just hope its included BG will be worth it. Aside from the new season gear we mentioned earlier, you may also want to check out the equally snazzy Zul'Aman sets that are also being tested.
