Is that Tech Support on the ground? - Image 1Several subscribers of Blizzard's World of Warcraft recently expressed their concern on the WoW Forums over a blue post which merely stated that Technical Support is not be available 24/7. Misunderstanding came to a close, however, since another blue poster explained the company has IT departments that work around the clock.

Drysc clarified that Tech Support, the World of Warcraft's arm responsible for "answering e-mails/phones/snail mail (seriously)/faxes/etc," operates 8AM to 8PM in overlapping shifts. There's no need to fret, since development related staff who actually address in-game problems are on-call 24/7 365 days a year.

"If your sound isn't working, or the game is crashing, that would be Technical Support," said Drysc. Even when Tech Support is not available, in-house Blizzard designers, database engineers, server technicians, programmers, community managers and the like work non-stop to make sure World of Warcraft is up and running.
