World of Warcraft logo - Image 1We are used to hearing about World of Warcraft realm populations: either they are too low or too high. A thread in the WoW Forums has another call for action from players in one of the lower population realms, Agamaggan. Blizzard poster Drysc provided some answers:

We're in the process of implementing alternate solutions to help assist the lower population realms. The problem here is that Agamaggan is not really what would be considered a "low population" realm, it's not even in the bottom 25 realms. While it's not at capacity (it's at around a 55% nightly pop) there are quite a few realms below it that we would need to focus our attention on first, such as Coilfang (around a 30% nightly pop) and 10 or so other realms like it.

The blue poster added that 200 out of 220 total U.S. realms are not hitting capacity (meaning "no queues at any time for a month+"), but they think that even when the realms don't reach full capacity, they still provide "an extremely functional and fun play experience" for players. The poster indicated that their attention is focused on the realms that fall below a certain capacity that affects the players' gameplay experience.

Anyway, we'll see what alternate solutions Blizzard will take for its floundering World of Warcraft realms. Stay tuned.
