Your average World of Warcraft junkie already knows the highs and lows of every class in Blizzard's MMORPG, but for the uninitiated, both Shaman and Druid classes are equally attractive healers. Someone on the WoW Forums made a thread about the dilemma, and it spurred an interesting discussion.

The player in question, going by the name Fefefe, wants to know what's ideal for someone who intends to be a healer for 5-man adventures and raids. Fefefe isn't looking at the PvP aspect, but still torn between the Druid and Shaman.

As expected, countless opinions were thrown around by World of Warcraft players who have their own views of the two classes. Blizzard poster Nethaera even came in to offer a sensible suggestion, saying it's all about play style.

To be exact, here's what Nethaera said:

I'd suggest the class that fits your playstyle most and that you will enjoy most. Both Druids and Shaman can be very effective in raids and five-player groups. It wouldn't hurt to make yourself a list of the things you think you would like most about each class and figure out from there which you are leaning more toward based on that list.

Some people find it incredibly fun to shape shift as a druid. Others find it extremely fun to have totems they can drop down and see visibly working for them. Others look at survivability, ease of leveling, learning curve, etc. It's up to you to really define what you want and then go for it.
