WoW PTR: Revamped Midsummer Fire Festival now under testing - Image 1

It may be months before World of Warcraft's Midsummer Fire Festival is underway in the public servers, but the PTR guys are getting quite a head start. Blizzard blue poster announced over at the forums that a revamped version of this holiday has been activated.

More than just some early merry-making however, this early run seeks to test the festival's new additions and tweaks. Designer Kisirani listed these points that would need some much-appreciated player feedback:
  • The boss fight (similar to the Headless Horseman) located in the Slave Pens of Coilfang Reservoir;
  • The Torch Tossing and Torch Catching quests located in the capitals;
  • The lead-in quests offered by the Earthen Ring elders and the daily summon quests that result;
  • The various camps in the wilderness and the buffs that result from activities there (honoring the flame, dancing around the ribbon pole with multiple people).
Kisirani also noted that the following bugs had been detected:
  • The Glacial Lieutenants from the Ice Stones in Silithus are not able to be attacked.
  • More Torch Tossing and More Torch Catching are unable to be completed for Horde players.
  • The Flame Keepers and Flame Wardens are hostile; this will be changed.
Other changes that were noted include the removal of some of last year's quests, the re-shifting of wilderness bonfires, and the changing of the quest's rewards. That's the rundown on the PTR's current  Midsummer Fire Festival run.
