WoW UI issues: ChatFrame.lua:737: bad argument #1 - Image 1

Over at the World of Warcraft forums, player Pariahdark is reporting an UI-related error message that's been randomly appearing onscreen during play. Those experiencing similar issues may want to take a look at the script, given that you may have the same problems:

InterfaceFrameXMLChatFrame.lua:737: bad argument #1 to 'strlower' (string expected, got nil)

Pariahdark initially assumed that the script error was related to the game's Addons, and proceeded to deactivate them to check. This didn't work. The player also reported a problem where WoW's textures (icons) would fade in and out to different transparencies. This was remedied by alt-tabbing the game.

Regarding the script error, player Lealla explained that the issue was a known problem with the WoW client UI, and was scheduled to be fixed with game patch 2.3.2. With regards to the icons error, Blizzard blue-texter Evanm explained that it may be driver-related. This particular problem may be remedied by making sure your video cards are operating with their latest driver updates.
That's the short on these two issues - you may want to visit the discussion thread at the WoW forums to get a look at Evanm's full explanation on this matter.
