The Arcanite Dragonling - Image 1 Aside from addressing bugs, another matter Blizzard representatives are pretty busy with is explaining the new mechanics for World of Warcraft's patch 2.4. One such clarification is with regards to the level mechanics for engineering pets.

As Lunaleska noted over at the WoW forums,  players were complaining that their pets no longer reflected the engineering level of their characters. Lunaleska also posted this to indicate that the discrepancy was new to patch 2.4:
  • 375 Eng Before Patch 2.4
    • Battle Chicken (lvl72)
    • Mithril Dragonling (lvl72)
    • Arcanite Dragonling (lvl72)
  • 375 Eng After Patch 2.4
    • Battle Chicken (lvl40)
    • Mithril Dragonling (lvl40)
    • Arcanite Dragonling (lvl50)
According to Hortus, this wasn't a bug, and was actually an intended change. Hortus further explained that this was implemented given that items (the pets included) weren't supposed to level so high.

Hortus adds that they also implemented a cooldown reduction to compensate for the new level cap. That's the latest on some of the new changes being spotted in WoW's new patch. Drop by again in case we pick up any related snippets.
