Jaina Proudmoore TCG artwork - Image 1As one of many speculations about (or ways of passing the time while awaiting) the Wrath of the Lich King update for Blizzard's World of Warcraft, WoW forum member Tootsieroll offered an interesting theory in the form of a question: Could it be possible that Jaina Proudmoore will turn into the Lich Queen once the Wrath of the Lich King update rolls around?

As is usually the case when someone posits a wild theory on Blizzard's WoW forums, various other forum members took up the challenge and responded with counter arguments, theories and trolling statements of their own. Some dismissed the theory as pure fanfiction speculation. Others argued that Jaina was meant for Thrall, and not Arthas. One WoW forum member made us laugh out loud with his statement that the Lich King did not need Jaina because he "swung the other way," making for two Lich Kings (Queens?) instead of one.

In the midst of the ensuing chaos, Blizzard blue poster Nethaera practically debunked Tootsieroll's theory with this statement:

Interesting theory, but it seemed to me that when she left Arthas before he went to go burn down buildings and kill 'innocents' she was not only disheartened by his choice, but found him and his very actions repugnant and that was BEFORE he became what we know him to be now. It seems unlikely with all that we know of Jaina that she would pursue the darker side of things.
