The Lich King - Image 1Neverlad, World of Warcraft player and forum member, recently picked the brains of fellow WoW forum members by inquiring into  the possibility of additional hero classes being introduced in the game. Neverlad's speculation came about as a result of the Death Knight's announced introduction in Blizzard's upcoming Wrath of the Lich King expansion of World of Warcraft.

As might be expected, the other forum members listed all the hero classes who they would wish to play as in the game: wardens, demon hunters and blademasters, to name a few. One other forum member did not suggest a hero class, but a more hybrid druid with greater damage per second (DPS) ability and utility. A third one did not feel the need for a many new hero classes other than the Death Knight, but expressed interest in a caster-based hero class.

Finally, World of Warcraft forum community manager Bornakk laid all rumors to rest with the following statement:

The only Hero Class we currently plan to launch with Wrath of the Lich King is the Deathknight.

Others may come in the future but we have no announced plans on what will happen.

If ever Blizzard eventually decides to include more hero classes in World of Warcraft at the rate of one per expansion, it may be, as one forum member lamented, "best not to hold our breath, we'll be on DirectX 12 by then."
