World of Warcraft by Blizzard - Image 1Will there be a World of Warcraft 2? Possibly, but according to Blizzard Executive VP of Product Development Frank Pearce, the company hasn't been thinking of making a sequel to World of Warcraft just yet.

Furthermore, Pearce added that Blizzard still has a "huge wishlist of exciting features" to implement in their popular MMORPG. The official admitted that Blizzard's WoW team members themselves would still like to see and enjoy the game content they'll eventually be releasing.

Interestingly, Mr. Pearce acknowledged that the Blizzard team is also eager to play Warhammer Online and Tabula Rasa as anyone else. In a nutshell, Frank Pearce stood by Blizzard's "not yet ready till it's ready" mantra:

As we've shown with The Burning Crusade, there's a massive amount of content required for what we consider a Blizzard-quality MMO expansion, and that can take some time to create. The bottom line is that we will never ship a product before it's ready.

Obviously some of the elements we're introducing, such as the game's first Hero class and the world-PvP zone, are things the team will want to continue to tweak until they're just right. So at this stage we're not yet ready to talk about release dates.
