World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade - checkerboard box model - Image 1 Over the past few days - or you probably can say, since the new World of Warcraft patch went live, we've seen a number of bugs running about in-game. Well, Disonzo of Dragonmaw from the WoW Forums noticed another one as he was doing his alt Spring cleaning. He noticed weird helm on one of his alts and, suffice to say, it's pretty weird.

As you can see from the image on the right, the character has a giant pixelated box on his head. He doesn't look very happy, does he? Anyway, Blizzard Tech Support poster Datth answered the player's query (no, it's not a new helm):

The checkerboard box models will appear if the data for that object is missing. All known objects should be linked. If you end up getting any types of Error 131s and/or more of those objects, you may have to reinstall the game... The original issue is usually seen if someone used a model editor. Possible outcomes are checkerboard objects and error 131s in certain zones after applying patch 2.4.0.

There you have it folks. Let's lay off the model editors and private servers, just in case.
