Loot Chest - Image 1When you're in a party (no, not the one with booze and loud music) in the World of Warcraft, sometimes its hard to trust people who you're partying with for the first time. This is true for both these questions: Will he back me up when I need help? and Is he a ninja?

There are safety measures for this. While you're in a party, you can choose between different types of looting parameters. This includes Free-for-all (better click fast), Round-robin (party members take turns), Group Loot (like Round Robin though there are additional parameters set by the leader), Need before Greed (those who can use the loot gets it), and Master Loot. In the Master Loot setting, there's only one person in the group who gets all the loot and distributes it for later.

Down at the World of Warcraft forums, Lurenna reported an issue with the Master Loot as it didn't give her a confirmation message (that should be received by Master Looters or ML). Here's what Blizzard poster Vrakthris had to say in response:

The only reason that you would not receive the confirmation box, Lurenna, is if you were not using the Master Looting option or if you have an addon that bypassed them. Although we allow addons we are not able to support them and if an error is caused by them I'm afraid there is nothing that we can do to assist, I'm sorry.

On another thread, Crazytank is also an ML but he has a different case. He mistakenly gave loot to the wrong person. Vrakthris also addressed the issue, but like Lurenna's case there is little that can be done. So kids, be careful with the add-ons you use and when you're distributing that loot. Better safe than sorry.
