Ever had dreams of being rich in Blizzard's World of Warcraft? While being the richest character seems almost impossible, it can actually be done. Believe it or not, Dorgabas of Illidan server was able to reach the maximum amount of gold and posted it on the official U.S. forums.
If you check out the screenshot above, Dorgabas found out that the gold cap was at 214,748 gold, 2 silver, and 89 copper. "At gold limit" system message popped up when he was able to acquire the wealth.
People in the forums commented on what he was able to do. It seems that there's another person who was able to do almost the same thing. Utakata of Shadow Council server posted that there was a German player who reached the limit. Utakata also provided the screenshot as evidence.
Lifeblood of Spinebreaker server posted that the gold cap made perfect sense. Since the maximum limit is 2 to the power of 31, it is a signed int32 - a type of coding used by most developers. All in all, the total amount is plus or minus 2,147,483,647 copper.
