All the raiding to get to him - Illidan Stormrage - Image 1

What motivates World of Warcraft players to go on raids? To see additional content, get some really cool loot, and maybe bragging rights too. But how is Raiding in the WoW nowadays, with all the bugs and the bosses and instances that need fine tuning?

Tobold expressed his boredom - or at least, waning interest - over raids. He can't seem to put his finger on what exactly bothers him but he counted off the probable causes. Are 40-man raids "more fun" than smaller raids? Has the loot become uninteresting (or inadequate reward for the effort)? And are the raids not casual-gamer friendly? Hmm, let's hope we don't have to live in a basement and play for days on end just to have a go at Illidan.

Come to think about it, what would you do if you quit raiding? Fish? Or mine, maybe. Maybe it's just burnout, or Blizzard needs to add the fun back into the raids. Endgame in the World of Warcraft would be very, very different without it.

 » Raiding is fun.

First comment...

I think raiding is fun.. I really enjoy the boss fights.. (well all ive seen so far is kara) There arent too many spank and tank moments. I do hate the trash respawn rate and when horde camp the entrance to instances..

But i must say.. Just like PVP gear killed raiding right before BC.. I think pvp and arena gear will eventually kill raiding. On my server already there are lots of people who think they are gods because they have arena gear... And arena gear will be updated every season.. Not only that... the end game instances sometimes have bugs, require consumables ,and the gear in karazhan is only sometimes marginally better than heroics or 5 man instances..I really hope raiding doesnt die out .. but it feels like it is =(

» i gave up on raiding

alright im a 66 rogue and i tried raiding the one huge problem is the number of ppl that there are to roll on the loot 40 rolls against you and all the deaths in the raid instance seem worthless another big problem is i have outland greenies that are better then most raid boss drops lol so they kinda messed up when they set the stats for OL greens

 » The whole game's boring

I just hope Warhammer: Age of Reckoning delivers where WoW failed miserably - meaningful PvP.
WoW Raiding is a lifestyle choice, not a game. and personally I found it to be boring way before Burning Crusade launched.

 » Raiding is fun...but repetitive

"There arent too many spank and tank moments."

This made me giggle...in Kara aside from SOME of the bosses its all Tank and Spank

I think raiding will continue, raiding is fun, but something about switching from 40 man to 10-25 man just turned off many people WoW is very far from dieing but soon enough the GOOD end game guilds will start to disapear.
