World of Warcraft PTR update: Warlock Life Tap revamp - Image 1World of Warcraft Warlock players are currently discussing over at the official forums about the improved Life Tap ability. For those not so familiar with it, it basically allows players to convert life into mana.

Judging from the Public Test Realm notes, it seems that Life Tap is now going to challenge one's ability to balance stamina and intelligence. Here's the description of the ability:

Life Tap: This spell now has only 3 ranks. Each now costs a fixed percentage of maximum health to cast, and grants the same fixed percentage of maximum mana: Rank 1 is 5%, Rank 2 is 12%, and Rank 3 is 20%.

Blizzard Community Moderator Nethaera dropped by the forums and provided further explanation. According to the blue poster, the ability is still undergoing a lot of testing so it may still change in the future. She posted:

It has also changed since it first made the patch notes from it's original incarnation to where it only had one available rank. We're still in testing, so constructive feedback on any changes made in this patch are appreciated.

Being that these are still Test notes, they can still change yet again.
